Oak Creek 2025 Winter Code Update Dates

The time is here we are now open for registration for the 2025 winter code updates. this year we have new topics and some new presenters.

Holiday Inn South, Eau Claire

UDC Building & HVAC February 26 & March 13 7:45-3:15– This will consist of 3 presentations one being focused on the SPS 322 and the applicability to residential buildings in Wisconsin. Identify and discuss the significance of energy efficiency standards, including insulation requirements, HVAC systems, and lighting. We will also Explore energy conservation compliance pathways that are provided. Then we will have a different style of presentation to delve into some of the most common issues that inspectors run into in the field when it comes to inspections. This will cover all aspects of our UDC code topics. And the last session will be on Rooftop PV systems, we will learn how roof top PV systems affect the roof structure of the homes and what to look for when reviewing and inspecting rooftop PV systems. This course is approved for 6 hours of CEUs for Dwelling Contractor Qualifier, UDC Building Inspector, UDC HVAC Inspector.

Commercial Building February 27 7:45-3:15- This class will be comprised of several mini presentations. +they will all be focused on the 2015 IBC. We will get a DSPS department update to some of the new policies and changes that are happening within the Dept. we ill explore flat roof requirements in our Commercial Buildings. We will be discussing membrane structures both with and without structural supports. We will look at which codes need to be prioritized during their plan review and inspection? We will walk thru the code specifics to look for when we review and inspect distilleries. We will spend some time on egress and accessibility with point of emphasis to provide clarity on the various issues which provide challenges to the Design, as well as enforcement, community. And we will look at firestopping and the specifics on the building codes and standard requirements when it comes to inspecting firestopping. This course is approved for 6 hours of CEUs for Dwelling contractor Qualifier, Commercial Building Inspector.

Plumbing March 12 7:45-3:15– We will spend some time exploring the new plumbing code and the changes that were made back in October of 2023. We will find out about the changes that have been made since then and explore how to interpret our current plumbing codes. We will walk thru several current hot topic scenarios that we are seeing in the field. Items like storm water systems and how they relate to the plumbing codes, proper plan review submittal documents, sizing the recirculation lines, grease interceptor requirements when and where they are required. Testing requirements when we get out into the field for inspections. The proper way to use the water calculation forms that are available and various other hot topics that we run into in the plumbing world. This course is approved for 6 hours of CEUs for Commercial Plumbing Inspector, Journeyman Plumber, Journeyman Plumber-Restricted Appliance, Journeyman Plumber-Restricted Service, Master Plumber, Master Plumber-Restricted Appliance, Master Plumber-Restricted Service and UDC Plumbing Inspector Certifications.
